Frequently Asked Questions

Are bookings essential?

While weekday rides don’t strictly need a booking, it’s the best way to avoid the sad sight of all bikes already taken. Book ahead and pedal into joy with us!

What locations do you ride at?

Paradise Point and The Spit—two of the Gold Coast’s finest spots for wind-in-your-hair moments.

How much are the rides?

Rides are still free (yay!), but we invite those who benefit from our service to contribute. After 12,000+ joyful rides, rising costs mean we need a little structured support to keep the wheels turning - help us keep spreading joy and reducing social isolation. Every bit of support makes a difference.

How long are the rides?

Rides are booked every 45 minutes, with around 30 minutes of wind-in-your-hair happiness!

Fancy a shorter spin? Our friendly Concierge or Pilot will happily make it happen.

Who can ride?

Weekday rides are mainly for the elderly and those with a disability and their carers (friends and family welcome too).

On Community Ride days, everyone’s invited! (Note: kids under 16 must bring an adult—preferably one they know.)

Yes, we even have bikes made for wheelchairs—able to carry passenger and chair safely, up to 140 kg!

Can I ride with my client or family?

Absolutely! In fact, we love it when families and carers come along—it makes the ride even more fun. The only rule is that at least one carer needs to join the adventure. Think of it as your “ticket to ride”… and sing along if you like! 🎶🚲

When do you ride?

We pedal joy between Tuesday and Friday, plus Community Rides at Paradise Point on the 1st and 3rd Sunday.

If the weather misbehaves, we pause—our passengers and volunteers are too precious to risk. Bookings will be updated with a cancellation notice.

How do I make a booking?

Easy peasy! Head to the 'Book A Ride' tab at the top of the screen, or go to cyclingwithoutage.com.au/book and you’ll see what’s available.

If you need a wheelchair bike, we recommend making this booking first. Here you can also book the accompanying trishaw for the carer, so everyone gets to share the ride and the smiles!.

How do I know when and how many bikes I’ve booked?

You’ll receive a confirmation email for each bike. Then, just to be extra helpful, we’ll send you a reminder email too. (Pro tip: check your Junk folder—sometimes our emails like to play hide-and-seek.)

How do I cancel my booking?

Simply click ‘Reschedule’ or ‘Cancel’ in your confirmation or reminder email. No awkward phone calls required.
